A fellow blogger - Chatty Crone - came up with a great project that encouraged me to focus on the postive, and I'm always looking for ways to focus on all things positive...which reminds me to share my favorite Bible verse:
"Whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things." Philippians 4:8
Lord, don't we all need to focus on the positive!
Chatty Crone says, "...to stop The [negative] Voice and replace it with a good Voice, a new Voice....I think God wants us to like ourselves because when we do - we're better to others because we are happier." She suggests making a list of 15 good qualities/characteristics about yourself!
Here's what I came up with:
I'm a writer so I thought it would be easy. I am also curious, thoughtful, clever, funny, energetic, Christian, sister, daughter, wife, friend, (had to count how many I had...), sensitive, focused, (this is getting harder...only need 2 more...), does sweet count? and lover of life!
Wheeeeewwwww! Glad that's over.
Now, tell me 15 good things about yourself in one word or a short phrase. Save the list and tape it to your bathroom mirror to remind yourself every morning how wonderful you are. It can be your very own affirmation. It's your turn! Let's hear it!
